We caught up with Rachel to find out a bit more about who she is…

What’s your story?

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam in 2012 with a degree in Public Relations and Communications. I’ve always stayed a fairly local Yorkshire lass – the furthest I’ve ever got is Leeds!

I’ve always been fascinated by all the ways digital marketing brings a brand to life, and the different ways brands use platforms such as social media in different ways to get their message across.

It’s important for me personally that there’s more understanding surrounding digital marketing – that it’s not a quick fix but part of a long term strategic investment in achieving fundamental business goals.

And your professional background?

I come from a background of digital and traditional marketing, reputation management, content creation and social media management. I’ve come to HMA from an agency in Leeds that transforms the way brands and high profile individuals are perceived online. This involved building a positive reputation for them using a range of strategies which included PR and content creation to SEO.

Before this I worked with military charity Help for Heroes, which was something completely different for me but incredibly rewarding! I’ve also got a background in customer service, so the mentality of going above and beyond and delivering outstanding service is something that has always stuck with me!

What do your weekends look like?

On a weekend you’ll find me on the sofa watching Formula 1, sipping on a gin and tonic whilst catching up with family or friends, or possibly out in the peak district walking with my fiancée (I actually got proposed to on the top of Mam Tor!).
