HMA is looking for a Social Media Executive to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic social media executive to join an award-winning agency, supporting our growing client base in health, science and tech and bringing their digital ambitions to life.

As a creative agency, we’re interested in pushing the boundaries of client briefs and helping them realise the art of the possible – providing industry insight, digital leadership, and delivering on the tangible outputs of digital marketing activity.

In addition to supporting HMA’s clients, you’ll also have the opportunity to own our own social media channels, contributing to content planning, engagement, copywriting and social analytics.
Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Social media management – Planning and scheduling of social media content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin), liaising directly with clients to ideate, present concepts and obtain sign off before publishing.
  • Social listening – Managing or escalating queries through social and sharing your insights to the rest of the team
  • Social media copywriting – Creating written content that demonstrates your creative flair and have an eye for design across copy, imagery and GIF selection (working in collaboration with our in-house designer)
  • Research & Analyse – Good interest in, and knowledge of health, science and tech industries (or desire to rapidly immerse yourself in this world). Experience of using social media analytics to provide evaluation and ideas for solutions, new projects and the bigger picture

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years digital experience (ideally in an agency)
  • Experience and an understanding of real world social media management that can be presented through a portfolio of projects
  • A balance of creative flair and data driven decision making, having the ability to spot trends and patterns that inform the creative direction of social accounts
  • A passion for digital marketing and show a genuine interest in how social media can support a multi-channel marketing strategy
  • A positive, can-do attitude towards work with the ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Strong reporting skills and ability to communicate results with non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A desire to continually improve your skills and knowledge

Working closely with our in-house designers, marketeers and Marketing Director, you will quickly become an integral part of the team working on some exciting digital projects in health, science and technology.

Salary will be around £24-26k per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits which include permanent health insurance and free parking. 24 days holiday (plus statutory bank holidays) with the opportunity to move up to 27 days holiday for long service.

We operate a hybrid working policy but the successful candidate will be required to work from our Barnsley-based headquarters at least once a week (min. two days a week during induction).
