Twitter has announced a new custom timeline feature where users can collate tweets using Tweetdeck into specific interests or groups.

“Share the best tweets about a topic you care about, or an event –– planned or unplanned –– that’s happening right now,” Twitter said. “Whether you want to collect the best tweets about a TV show or help people find the latest information about fast-moving, real-time situations, custom timelines let you give everyone a place to follow along.”

This is a great tool if you’re at an event and want to collate a round-up of the conversations throughout the day which you can later post on your blog, or just simply share a collection of tweets each week with your customers and colleagues.

Creating your own custom timeline is simple. Log in to Tweetdeck, click on the ‘+’ symbol and ‘custom timeline’. Name your custom timeline and simply drag and drop tweets.

To give you an idea of how it looks when embedded into a blog post, we’ve collated a selection of HMA’s tweets over the last few weeks.
