Doc Abode

Last month the Doc Abode team attended NHS Expo 18 in Manchester, showcasing the real-time clinician deployment platform that safely connects a multi-disciplinary clinical workforce to NHS patient needs

Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, stopped by to hear Doc Abode’s vision of mobilising a flexible NHS workforce from CEO Dr Taz Aldawoud.

We’re also delighted that Doc Abode has been recognised as one of Yorkshire’s most pioneering and innovative technology companies, appearing in the top 20 of the Mills & Reeve Top Tech Yorkshire report.

Tookie

The Tookie team were also exhibiting at the NHS Expo 18 last month, showcasing their Tookie vest product. Tookie met delegates from all over at the exhibition, brought together by The Department for International Trade, to discuss opportunities to bring healthtech for development to the UK.

In July, Tookie’s life changing vest was also showcased at an NIHR Innovation Day at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The event was organised to explore innovations that are being developed in response to the unmet needs of patients.

We’re just in the process of creating Tookie’s new website which will be launching soon so watch this space!

Digibete

Congratulations to the lovely people at Digibete on their award win last week at the eighth annual Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes Awards.  The team were victorious in the Type 1 Specialist Service – Children, Young People and Emerging Adults category and co-founders Maddie & Rob were there to pick up the prize.

The quick award judges commented: “The DigiBete Website gained unanimous praise from patient representatives and healthcare professionals. It’s a great resource – the videos are especially appealing to children. It succeeds in being ‘aspirational’ about what people with the condition can do, but also offers high quality practical advice in line with national guidance. It provides quick answers to common questions, but also in-depth explanations for technical areas such as insulin pumps, and brings lots of resources together in one place. There is real potential for this service to make a difference in helping to raise standards and produce more consistent guidance across the country.”

We’ve proud to have worked with Maddie and Rob on the creation of the Digibete platform and looking forward to the next phase of the journey!
