After being shortlisted for two awards back in May – for Isopharm’s e-Training platform and the design and development of Calm Harm – the HMA team couldn’t wait to head down South to the capital to attend the awards finals!

Taking place at the Park Plaza Riverbank in London, the awards finals provided a valuable platform for sharing best practice and promoting continuous improvement, learning, and personal development. The winners of the awards were selected by a panel of independent judges made up of business professionals from across the UK. After presenting both projects to the panel, it was time for the awards ceremony.

HMA were absolutely over the moon to receive a gold award in the ‘Not for Profit/Charity’ category for the design and development of Calm Harm – an app to help teenagers resist or manage the urge to self-harm for teenage mental health charity stem4. The app has now been downloaded over 650,000 times and is one of only 13 mental health apps advertised on the NHS App Library.

Congratulating the winners, Neil Skehel, CEO of Awards International, said: “We are truly inspired by the outstanding digital talent showcased once again at the UK Digital Experience Awards. This year we have seen many outstanding initiatives which are breaking the mould and creating a digital customer experience journey that is truly supportive and engaging. This amazing event gave us the opportunity to acknowledge those forward-thinking companies and celebrate with both the finalists and the winners.”

There were also victories on the day for prestigious brands and outstanding projects. Gold awards were given to Virgin Experience Days for the best use of AR or VR, to EE in the category of Personal Entertainment and Telecoms and to Sky UK for the best use of Data Analytics and Insight.
